OUR STORY
Native Vancouverite Nancy Stibbard purchased CSBP in 1983 and has spearheaded the attraction’s development and phenomenal success over the past 30 years.
Nancy’s commitment to exceeding guest expectations and her vision to ‘create experiences people are amazed by’ guide every aspect of her businesses.
Nancy’s initial success came from retail, reworking the merchandise mix at Capilano Trading Post to include more Canadian-made products and upscale brands. She opened new stores in BC and Alberta, then purchased and rebuilt two luxury accommodation properties in the Canadian Rockies – Moraine Lake Lodge (1991) and Cathedral Mountain Lodge (2002). In 2014, Nancy added Stanley Park Pavilion and Prospect Point Bar & Grill and Gift Shop to the Capilano Group portfolio. The Prospect Point property was renovated in a way that enhances its function and its history, while the Pavilion was restored to its former glory.
CG is founded on the values of Safety, Show and Stewardship. Guest and team member safety is paramount and factors into all decision making. Nancy’s belief in a seamless guest experience, the Show, is accomplished by commitment to theme, attention to detail and extensive team training. Stewardship is demonstrated with environmental management plans, community relations activities and involvement in the tourism industry.
CAPILANO SUSPENSION BRIDGE PARK
Over the past 125 years visitors from all over the world have enjoyed the thrill of stepping onto the swaying cedar planks over Capilano Canyon but it is the spirit of those first intrepid visitors in 1889 that makes it unique and inspires our vision.
MORAINE LAKE LODGE
Moraine Lake Lodge is located in Banff National Park on the shores of Moraine Lake. The lodge captures the romance and elegance of a bygone era and is mere steps from the stunning beauty of the turquoise-coloured lake and the majestic Canadian Rockies.
CATHEDRAL MOUNTAIN LODGE
Located in Yoho National Park on the banks of the Kicking Horse River in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, it is central to more than 500 kilometres of hiking trails and provides a wide array of activities for the outdoor enthusiast.
PROSPECT POINT
Boasting the most spectacular views of the North Shore Mountains, the Lions Gate Bridge and the Burrard Inlet, The Prospect Point Lookout in Stanley Park is a Vancouver tradition and a must visit landmark destination for all.
